The ensemble, crafted in the Gap Studio located at Gap’s headquarters in New York City, celebrates the theme of Black style and dandyism.

The outfit prominently features raw, natural denim, reflecting Gap’s brand heritage, and includes double-needle stitching and elongated pant legs crafted from double-face duchess silk satin. Voluminous sheer sleeves made of cotton organdie add a soft touch to the striking design, enhancing its couture appeal.

This Met Gala look marks Posen’s debut creation that incorporates pants, a choice he described as deliberate and symbolic. ‘Dandyism was both a form of rebellion and a uniform of entry,’ Posen stated. ‘I wanted to honor that dichotomy by applying a sculptural technique to tailoring.’ The design draws on personal family photographs of Harrier’s father and grandfather, further connecting the look to Black heritage and tradition.
