BILLUND, Denmark — The LEGO Group announced the release of a new set inspired by the live-action film How to Train Your Dragon. The set, featuring a buildable model of Toothless, will be available on July 1, 2025.

This new LEGO Icons Toothless set contains 784 pieces and showcases a chibi-style design of the beloved Night Fury dragon. The model allows for some movement, including tilting the head, opening the jaw, and flapping the wings. Additionally, it includes accessories such as a fish and an attachment for a plasma blast effect.

This cutesy interpretation of Toothless is particularly interesting given that the set targets adult collectors. The model is inspired by the character’s more realistic redesign in the upcoming film, which is set to premiere in theaters on June 13, 2025.

“Toothless is a beloved character and this set allows fans to build their own version of him,” said a LEGO spokesperson. “It captures the essence of the films while also being a fun and approachable design.”

The announcement marks the first How to Train Your Dragon LEGO set, despite the franchise’s popularity over the years. The set is priced at $69.99 and is available for pre-order as of June 2, 2025.

Fans can view a first look at the set with actor Gerard Butler and the film’s writer/director, Dean DeBlois, on LEGO’s YouTube channel.
