Lego Lord Of The Rings Shire Set Details

London, UK — LEGO has announced its latest addition to the Lord of the Rings collection, bringing fans a chance to build the iconic Shire. The highly detailed set, titled “The Lord of the Rings: The Shire,” features 2,017 pieces and recreates the festive atmosphere of Bilbo Baggins’ eleventy-first birthday celebration.

This new set is scheduled to be available for pre-order for LEGO Insiders starting April 2, with a general release set for April 5, 2025. Priced at $269.99, it includes a new replica of Bag End, Bilbo and Frodo‘s hobbit hole, complete with vignettes from the memorable birthday party.

The set comes with nine minifigures: Bilbo, Frodo, Samwise, Merry, Pippin, Farmer Proudfoot and his wife, Rosie Cotton, and Gandalf the Grey. Among interactive elements, builders can transform a burning letter into the One Ring, make Bilbo vanish with a turn of a dial, and recreate the dragon firework scene featuring interchangeable heads for Merry and Pippin.

LEGO previously released a Bag End set in 2012 as part of its collection for “The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey.” However, this new edition enhances the design with updated features and an expanded focus on elements from the “Fellowship of the Ring.” The interior showcases key settings such as Bilbo’s writing room and the kitchen where later conversations with Gandalf take place.

There’s more for fans eager to dive into this new set: those who purchase The Shire between April 2 and April 8 will receive a special Gift with Purchase: a build of Smeagol & Deagol, depicting the iconic moment from “Return of the King” where they discover the One Ring.

Sean Astin, known for his role as Samwise Gamgee, celebrates this release through an exclusive mini-film that pays tribute to the artistry of the trilogy and the rich storytelling found in Middle-earth.

“From the smallest hobbit-hole to the grandest fireworks, building this set brought back so many fond memories of Middle-earth,” Astin said. “Now fans can journey there themselves and build their own adventures.”

In addition to The Shire set, LEGO has offered related items in previous years, with the recent releases for Barad-dûr and Rivendell completing a trilogy of remarkable builds spotlighting the beloved tale.

Accessible through LEGO stores and LEGO.com, The Lord of the Rings: The Shire set will be released alongside a continued effort by LEGO to expand its fantastical lineup featuring characters and scenes from the beloved franchise, inviting collectors and fans to indulge in the magic and craft of building.
