Leo Woodall Bridget Jones Mad About The Boy

LOS ANGELES, CA — At just 28 years old, Leo Woodall is making waves in the entertainment industry with his charming portrayal of romantic interests. Known for his role in the acclaimed series The White Lotus and the Netflix hit One Day, Woodall is now captivating audiences as May in Bridget Jones: Mad About the Boy, currently streaming on Peacock.

In his latest role, Woodall’s character sparks a heartwarming romance with Renee Zellweger‘s Bridget, who navigates the complexities of love while grieving. ‘I play Roxster, a park worker who comes to the rescue when Bridget and her children get stuck in a tree on Hampstead Heath,’ Woodall explained. ‘He and Bridget take a liking to each other, and a relationship ensues.’

Reflecting on the themes of love in his work, Woodall noted, ‘These relationship stories aren’t new, but it’s lovely to see Bridget experience joy amidst her grief. She meets this young guy, and he’s got the right intentions.’

Woodall expressed admiration for celebrity icons from his childhood, including Kate Winslet and Julia Roberts. ‘I just thought she was this wonderful actress who was also the coolest woman on the planet,’ he said of Winslet. ‘And Julia Roberts in Notting Hill has this unique charisma and warmth that drew me in.’

His love for High School Musical further reveals a playful side. ‘When I was about 10 or 11, I was completely in love with Vanessa Hudgens. A friend of mine claimed he loved her too, and we ended up having a fight about it,’ he recalled.

In addition to his love for entertainment, Woodall credits his family with shaping his understanding of relationships. ‘My mom always emphasized kindness and how to treat people, especially women,’ he said. ‘And my sister has offered brutal honesty when it comes to dating advice.’

Addressing the challenges men face in understanding women, Woodall stated, ‘I pride myself on having emotional intelligence, yet I recognize that so many men struggle with this. Listening properly has been one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned.’

As audiences tune into his latest performance, Leo Woodall continues to leave a lasting impression as one of Hollywood’s emerging talents.
