Lil Nas X Reflects on Bold Fashion Choices at Met Gala

New York, NY – Rapper Lil Nas X recently reflected on his daring fashion choices at the 2023 Met Gala during an interview with host Hudson. The event, held on May 8, saw Lil Nas X making a bold statement by appearing nearly nude, covered in glittering crystals.

“There are definitely moments where I’m just like, ‘OK, I love that I did that; I don’t want to see it ever again,’” he shared, as a montage of his high-fashion looks played. He specifically mentioned, “The one from two years ago where I’m kind of naked and covered in crystals.”

During the interview, Lil Nas candidly admitted the experience was both thrilling and embarrassing. “I cannot explain to you how it feels walking up to, like, ‘Hi Bad Bunny’ and just talking, and then walking away knowing that he’s seeing your ass covered in crystals,” he said, covering his face in mock embarrassment.

Despite the cringe-worthy feelings associated with the outfit, the rapper defended his choice to embrace his body and step outside his comfort zone. “I want to feel good about my body, and I just wanted to step out there. And then just looking back, going, ‘Damn, everybody saw my ass covered in silver crystals…’” he continued.

Hudson lightened the mood with a compliment, saying, “Well it was a good ass!” to which Lil Nas X humorously responded, “Yeah, I love it! One of my favorite asses: mine.”

The 2023 Met Gala’s theme, “in honor of Karl,” paid tribute to the late Chanel creative director Karl Lagerfeld. Alongside Lil Nas X, fellow artist Bad Bunny wowed attendees in a stunning backless white suit complete with a floral train.
