Linkin Park Unveils New Single and 2024 Album Details
Linkin Park has released their latest single “Heavy Is The Crown” following a live performance in Hamburg. This track is part of their upcoming eighth album “From Zero,” slated for release on November 15 under Warner. The band describes “Heavy Is The Crown” as a piece that “harnesses our signature sound and infuses it with fresh energy,” offering a glimpse into this new era for them.
The album title “From Zero” alludes to the band’s initial name, Xero, reflecting both their origins and current journey. A statement from the band expressed, “Sonically and emotionally, it is about past, present, and future – embracing our signature sound, but new and full of life.” The release has been forged with an appreciation for new and long-time bandmates, as well as their supporters.
In addition to this release, Linkin Park announced new tour dates for 2024, including shows in Paris, Dallas, and São Paulo, where they will perform alongside supporting acts Sleep Token and Bad Omens. Their world tour kicked off in Los Angeles and will include performances throughout major cities such as London, Seoul, and Bogota.
The band’s current lineup features Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, Dave “Phoenix” Farrell, Joe Hahn, Emily Armstrong, and Colin Brittain. According to a review by Chris Willman of Variety, the Los Angeles concert was described as a testament to the band’s successful evolution with Armstrong in the lead singer role after the passing of former frontman Chester Bennington.
The single “Heavy Is The Crown” doubles as the anthem for the 2024 League of Legends World Championship, marking Linkin Park’s first collaboration with Riot Games. It succeeds their prior release “The Emptiness Machine,” which made its debut on NBC‘s “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.”
