Lisa Rinna Siriusxm Interview

LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Lisa Rinna publicly apologized to Andy Cohen after suggesting that “The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills” (RHOBH) resembles the ill-fated Titanic. During an appearance on SiriusXM’s show on February 10, she faced backlash over the comment made in a podcast episode, leading to a candid conversation with Cohen.

“Why are you saying that the show is the Titanic?” Cohen asked Rinna during their exchange. Rinna, 61, responded wittingly, “Hello, have you met me?” This banter highlighted Rinna’s past as a prominent cast member of RHOBH, where she was known for her outspoken personality.

Rinna was a fixture on the Bravo reality series from its fifth season in 2014 until her departure in 2022 after season 12. Reflecting on her time with the show, she stated, “I’m grateful for the experience,” during her interview on “The Jennifer Hudson Show” on March 22.

Her sinking ship analogy drew criticism from Cohen. Rinna noted her regret, saying, “I’m sorry I hurt your feelings,” and indicated that her comments were taken out of context. She also mentioned a conversation with current RHOBH star Erika Jayne, who informed her that the comment had hurt Cohen’s feelings as well.

Cohen pressed for clarity, asking if Rinna believed she had caused harm. She acknowledged the misstep, stating, “I misused my words. I meant to say Titanic, and I said it, and I’m sorry I hurt your feelings. Let’s move on.”

Amidst the apologetic tone, Cohen described Rinna’s remarks as a typical “non-apology apology,” hinting that while she expressed regret, her comments weren’t entirely contrite. “It was?” Rinna questioned, but she maintained she didn’t feel bad about her sentiments regarding the show.

During their discussion, Rinna candidly admitted that she believes RHOBH is struggling, claiming, “They’re always looking to save it. I think they know it’s the Titanic; I’m just going to say it.” This echoes her earlier statements in a January podcast where she openly discussed the franchise’s potential decline.

Rinna’s comments about the state of RHOBH have revitalized debates among fans and critics alike about the show’s future. Despite her departure, she noted that she remains friends with some of the cast, including Jayne.

The public discourse surrounding Rinna’s comments follows the backdrop of a significant shift in the reality television landscape, as the show’s current season is reportedly achieving high viewer ratings.
