Eurovision Representative Lithuania 2025

VILNIUS, Lithuania — Lithuania has selected the group Katarsis to represent the country at the 2025 Eurovision Song Contest, set to take place in Switzerland.

The decision was announced during the national Eurovision selection final on Saturday, February 15, 2025. Katarsis claimed victory among a competitive field of finalists, capturing the audience’s hearts with their heartfelt performance.

Gratitude filled the air as the band’s leader expressed, “Thank you. I have no words. Thank you!” in response to a question from host Gabrielė Martirosian about their message to fans.

The finalists competed in the following order: Nojus Žebrauskas-NOY with “Just Take Me On A Date,” GØYA with “After Storm,” Liepa with “Ar mylėtum,” Gebrasy with “Whole,” Amoralu with “Freedom,” Anyanya with “Running Out Of Time,” Justė Baradulinaitė with “Tired,” Katarsis with “Tavo akys,” Petunija with “Į saldumą,” Sophie Ali with “The Bluest Bell,” Lion Ceccah with “Drobė,” and Black Biceps with “Visaip man reik.”

The event was hosted by a new trio: Gabrielė Martirosian, Nombeko Augustė, and Rimvydas Černiauskas. A jury panel of 11 music professionals, including Giedrė Kilčiauskienė and Vaidas Baumila, evaluated the contestants’ performances throughout the night.

The jury’s scores were combined with the live public voting results, enabling the three most popular acts—Liepa, Lion Ceccah, and Katarsis—to perform once more. Ultimately, public votes determined that Katarsis would represent Lithuania in Switzerland.

A portion of the votes will contribute to the winner’s preparations for the international competition in May 2025, following Nemo‘s victory at the 2024 contest in Sweden with the song “The Code.”

Throughout the evening, viewers were entertained by guest performances, including those by young artist Rokas Yan, Monika Liu, and Vaidas Baumila, while last year’s representative Silvester Belt awarded the evening’s winner.

In the final, many contestants brought unique musical styles and emotional performances, including NOY, whose song explores themes of love and longing, and GØYA, who invites listeners to reflect on the meaning of storms in life. “Let’s discover together what comes after the storm,” said GØYA.

Liepa, facing challenges after initially being eliminated, made a comeback to the finals. Her song, “Ar mylėtum,” carries a deep message about self-love and personal growth. “This song is a first step into a new musical chapter for me,” she shared.

The judges were impressed by the diversity and talent on display. Vaidas Baumila commented on the difficulty of choosing a winner due to the high quality of the performances. “It was one of the toughest years to select a champion because many contestants had the potential to win,” he noted.

This year’s Eurovision final in Lithuania has showcased not only the skills of emerging artists but also the power of music to express individual and collective experiences across the country.
