Live Nation's On The Road Again Program Continues To Support Artists On Tour In 2024

The ongoing support for artists on tour continues as Live Nation‘s acclaimed program, On The Road Again, extends into 2024. This initiative, pioneered by the iconic Willie Nelson, offers vital assistance to emerging talents during their live performances at Live Nation’s clubs.

For each concert held at an On The Road Again venue, both the main act and supporting artists receive an additional $1,500 to cover travel and gas expenses, in addition to their regular performance fees. Furthermore, artists benefit from retaining 100% of the profits from merchandise sales, as the program waives any selling fees typically charged at these venues.

Willie Nelson, a driving force behind the program, expressed satisfaction in alleviating the touring burdens for over 4,000 artists and counting through On The Road Again. The initiative has injected millions of dollars into the industry while offering ongoing support with no predefined end date.

On The Road Again has also implemented special bonuses and raised the minimum wage for club staff to $20 per hour, acknowledging the critical role played by behind-the-scenes personnel in nurturing budding artists.

Michael Rapino, Live Nation Entertainment’s President and CEO, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to sustaining the impactful On The Road Again program, emphasizing its role in fortifying the music industry’s future through artist support.

Live performances remain a linchpin for artists, especially as touring constitutes a significant portion of their income. Despite the thriving live music scene, up-and-coming club performers are particularly vulnerable to escalating tour expenditures, underscoring the value of initiatives like On The Road Again that help maintain affordable concert experiences for fans.

Designed through insights gleaned from Willie Nelson’s extensive touring career and feedback from artists, their teams, and venue operators, On The Road Again stands as a collaborative effort aimed at enhancing the day-to-day tour experience for musicians. Notably, all benefits provided by the program stem directly from venue revenues, with no additional costs passed on to consumers.
