911 and 911: Lone Star Return with New Episodes in 2025
LOS ANGELES, Calif. — Fans of the hit drama series 911 and its spin-off 911: Lone Star can rejoice as both shows are set to return with new episodes in 2025. The shows, created by Ryan Murphy, will continue to deliver high-stakes drama and action, featuring star-studded casts including Angela Bassett and Rob Lowe.
911, which originally premiered on Fox in 2018, will return to ABC on Thursday, March 6, at 8 p.m. ET. The series, now in its eighth season, follows the lives of Los Angeles first responders, including the LAPD, LAFD, and 911 operators. Angela Bassett, an Oscar-winning actress, leads the cast as the show transitions into its second season on ABC.
The eighth season has already introduced significant changes, including the replacement of Station 118 Captain Bobby Nash by his predecessor, Vincent Gerrard. Nash has since taken on a consulting role for a TV show, while tensions rise within the fire station under Gerrard’s leadership. Meanwhile, firefighter Eddie Diaz is contemplating a move to El Paso, Texas, to be closer to his son.
On the other hand, 911: Lone Star, which debuted in 2020, will premiere its fifth season on Monday, January 20, at 8 p.m. ET on Fox. The series stars Rob Lowe as a New York firefighter who relocates to Austin, Texas, with his son. The show explores his journey as he leads a team of first responders in his new home. The season is set to conclude on Monday, February 3, with the fate of the cast remaining uncertain as they face what could be their final missions together.
Both series have already completed filming, ensuring that the remaining episodes will air as scheduled despite recent disruptions caused by the Los Angeles fires. Promotional materials for 911: Lone Star hint at a dramatic finale, with the city of Austin potentially threatened by a meteor. Additionally, fans can expect answers to lingering questions, such as whether characters Carlos and TK will adopt TK’s younger brother.
For those eager to catch up, both 911 and 911: Lone Star are available for streaming on Hulu, where new episodes typically land shortly after their television premieres.
