Lou Ferrigno Jr. on Potential Return to ‘9-1-1’ and His Current Commitments
Lou Ferrigno Jr., known for his role as Tommy Kinard on the popular TV series ‘9-1-1,’ has addressed the possibility of his character’s return to the show. In a recent interview with Fangirlish, Ferrigno Jr. discussed the breakup between Tommy and Buck (played by Oliver Stark) in Season 8, Episode 6, titled “Confessions.”
The breakup was a pivotal moment in the series, with Tommy deciding to end the relationship due to concerns about its longevity and the pace at which Buck was moving. Ferrigno Jr. explained that Tommy’s decision was influenced by his past experiences and a desire not to compromise Buck’s character.
Despite the finality of the breakup, Ferrigno Jr. expressed his openness to returning to ‘9-1-1’ in future seasons, provided there are no conflicts with his current commitments. He is currently involved with another series, ‘S.W.A.T.,’ where he plays the character Rocker. “I would absolutely love to come back, but I do need to continue on my journey here [on S.W.A.T.]. I have a number of things now that are going on that may or may not happen, and I hope that there’s no conflict if it were to be the case,” he stated.
The possibility of Tommy’s return is further supported by his connections within the ‘9-1-1’ universe, including friendships with characters like Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman). These relationships could provide a pathway for his character to reappear in future episodes.
