Lucky Duck Unmasked on The Masked Singer Season 13

Los Angeles, CA – Fans of The Masked Singer were left in shock on April 30, when the contestant known as Lucky Duck revealed his identity during the semi-finals of season 13. In a surprising twist, the character was unmasked as Taika Waititi, husband of panelist Rita Ora.
During his performance, Lucky Duck teased the audience with clues about his background, stating, “I spend most of my time on massive movie sets – even bigger than The Hangover. There’s not an Oscar I don’t know.” His playful banter with the judges suggested he would be a difficult guess, leading him to take off his mask early.
Lucky Duck was introduced as part of a “Lucky Season 13” theme. He engaged with contestants throughout the season, similar to how Cluedle-Doo played his role in season five. Some viewers speculated possible identities, including celebrities like Meryl Streep and Nicolas Cage, but none came close.
Rita Ora, replacing Nicole Scherzinger who has taken a hiatus since 2023, has been a consistent panelist since season 11. While discussing her husband’s reveal, Ora mentioned, “Lucky Duck decided to play by his own rules and reveal himself ahead of schedule.”
In addition to Lucky Duck’s reveal, the audience also saw performances from the top four contestants: Boogie Woogie, Mad Scientist Monster, Pearl, and Coral. Coral notably performed “What Was I Made For?” during the broadcast.
As the show progresses, fans anticipate further surprises as the competition unfolds. The Masked Singer airs Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET on Fox, with new episodes available to stream the following day on Hulu.
