Lucy Guo Self Made Billionaire

LOS ANGELES, CA — Lucy Guo has officially overtaken Taylor Swift as the youngest self-made woman billionaire, according to Forbes’ 10th Anniversary list of America’s Richest Self-Made Women, released today.

The 30-year-old founder and CEO of Passes, a platform that connects creators with their fans through live streams and exclusive content, boasts a net worth of $1.3 billion. Guo’s company, founded in 2022, raised $50 million in just two years, propelling her into the billionaire spotlight.

Guo, a college dropout, left her computer science studies at Carnegie Mellon University to co-found the artificial intelligence company Scale in 2016. She departed the company in 2018, retaining much of her financial stake and later making Forbes’ 30 Under 30 list.

Guo now owns two properties: an apartment in Miami, Florida, and a house close to her Los Angeles office. In a 2023 interview, she shared how she travels to work using an electric skateboard or with help from her assistant. Her busy schedule leaves little time for meals, often resulting in her eating lunch at her desk and relying on services like Uber Eats for food.

Despite her success, Guo has not enjoyed a proper vacation. ‘I’ve never really had a real vacation,’ she told Fortune. ‘Even when I’m on vacation, I’m working at least eight hours per day.’

Fitness is another priority for Guo, who has attended Barry’s Bootcamp twice a day and recently celebrated completing 3,000 workout classes. ‘Discipline is key,’ she says.

When she isn’t working out, Guo enjoys music festivals and has exhibited a newfound interest in DJing, spending two weeks learning the craft after attending Coachella Festival in April.

Turning 30 in October has prompted reflection for Guo, who expressed some apprehension about cultural expectations surrounding marriage and children. ‘I’ve always been so scared of this age,’ she wrote on Instagram, emphasizing a growing sense of confidence and gratitude in her life.

Forbes’ latest list ranks Diane Hendricks, co-founder of ABC Supply, as the richest self-made woman at $22.3 billion. Oprah Winfrey and Kim Kardashian also appear on the list, ranking 13th and 19th, respectively.
