Lynne Ramsay Vampire Movie

CANNES, France — Acclaimed director Lynne Ramsay has announced plans to work with actor Ezra Miller on a new vampire film. In a recent interview with The Los Angeles Times, Ramsay revealed, “I’m making a vampire movie. It’s with Ezra Miller, who was in ‘We Need to Talk About Kevin.’ He’s the main character. That’s in development.”

This marks the first time Ramsay has collaborated with an actor from a previous project, creating a buzz in the film community. The two previously worked together on the 2011 psychological thriller, “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” which centered on maternal struggles and a troubled son.

Despite being an influential figure in cinema for over two decades, Ramsay has only directed five feature films: “Ratcatcher,” “Morvern Callar,” “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” “You Were Never Really Here,” and her latest, “Die My Love,” which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival.

Ramsay, known for her meticulous approach to filmmaking, shared her reasons for being selective in her projects. “It’s not by design. It’s just life takes over,” she said. She noted personal obligations and the challenges of the film industry have limited her output.

Her recent project, “Die My Love,” stars Jennifer Lawrence and Robert Pattinson and received strong reviews at Cannes. The film explores themes of postpartum depression and maternal challenges.

Ramsay hopes that her next film won’t take as long to produce as “Die My Love,” which was her first feature in nearly a decade. She mentioned that she has three scripts in various stages of development. “You won’t wait for 10 years,” she emphasized. “I don’t have 10 years. I’ve got to do it quicker than that.”

If the vampire film progresses with Miller, it hints at a fresh exploration of genre while maintaining Ramsay’s trademark intense narrative style. Further details about the story and the character are yet to be announced, but Ramsay’s fans eagerly anticipate her return to the director’s chair.
