Macau Races On Wins Best Event Film at International Awards

MACAU – The Macao Government Tourism Office (MGTO) celebrated its film, Macau Races On, which won the Best Event Film award at the International Motor Film Awards 2025 on October 20. The award recognition comes after the ceremony held in London on October 2 where the film triumphed among 20 nominations.
The festive gathering at the Macao Grand Prix Museum (MGPM) included MGTO Director Maria Helena de Senna Fernandes and Deputy Directors Cheng Wai Tong and Jennifer Si Tou. The session focused on the film’s production and its significance, featuring discussions led by director Sérgio Basto Perez and co-director Ho Man U. The trophy was officially presented to the museum for future display.
The International Motor Film Awards, regarded as the “Oscars of the motoring world,” recognize excellence in automotive media. The awards ceremony highlighted Mann Races On’s innovative portrayal of the iconic Macau Grand Prix’s rich 70-year history.
In addition to its recent accolade, the film also secured the top prize for “Spot & Adv Project – Fast Sport Stories” at the Sport Movies & TV – Milano International FICTS Festival on October 11, further demonstrating its global appeal.
Macau Races On offers viewers an immersive eight-minute experience showcasing the emotional and logistical elements of the Macau Grand Prix. From the bustling atmosphere surrounding the event to its impact on generations of drivers, the film was designed to elevate the public’s appreciation for this prestigious occasion.
The film is currently shown at the MGPM alongside other MGTO films, providing insights into the legendary event’s history and footfall. The Screening Room boasts advanced 4K display and surround sound for a captivating viewing experience.
