Machop Takes Center Stage in Upcoming Community Day Classic Event

REDMOND, Washington — Pokémon GO players can look forward to the Community Day Classic event featuring Machop, set to take place on May 24, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. local time.

During this event, Trainers will see Machop, known as the Superpower Pokémon, appearing more frequently in the wild. Players may even encounter a shiny version of this popular character. All Trainers who log into the game during this three-hour window will receive special Timed Research tasks, with a chance to catch a Machop sporting a unique Might and Mastery-themed Special Background.

In addition, those who complete the tasks will have a week following the event to evolve their Machoke into Machamp, which will come equipped with the new Charged Attack, Payback. This is a notable feature for those looking to strengthen their battle strategies.

The Community Day Classic will also offer bonuses, including special research for just $1.99 or the equivalent local currency. Players can even gift tickets to their friends with whom they have achieved a Great Friends level or higher.

Alongside the event, Trainers are encouraged to connect with each other in local parks and Community Ambassador events, providing opportunities for trading, battling, and joining raids. The Pokémon Company International has also reminded players that they can find events through the app.
