American rapper Macklemore, known for his chart-topping hit ‘Thrift Shop,’ has dropped a new track titled ‘Hind’s Hall’ in solidarity with pro-Palestinian demonstrations, announcing that all earnings from the song will be contributed to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).

In ‘Hind’s Hall,’ the 40-year-old artist from Seattle explicitly expresses his decision not to vote for U.S. President Joe Biden in the upcoming November election, holding him accountable for the situation, as he raps, ‘The blood is on your hands, Biden; we can see it all.’

The song’s title, ‘Hind’s Hall,’ is notably inspired by a young Palestinian girl who lost her life in an attack in Gaza. It references the recent demonstrations at prestigious U.S. universities, particularly Columbia University, where pro-Palestinian students renamed a building they occupied ‘Hind’s Hall’ in a powerful statement of solidarity.

Addressing the ongoing protests at universities in the U.S. against Israel’s actions in Gaza, Macklemore uses his platform to amplify voices advocating for peace and justice, emphasizing the need for solidarity with the Palestinian cause.

Macklemore has a history of incorporating political themes into his music, with previous tracks like ‘White Privilege II’ shedding light on movements such as Black Lives Matter. The artist has actively engaged in demonstrations, including a significant pro-Palestinian protest in Washington D.C. last year, aligning his music with social and political activism.
