Mad Scientist Monster: Celebrity Contestant Mystery Deepens on The Masked Singer

LOS ANGELES, CA — The identity of Mad Scientist Monster, a standout contestant on this season of The Masked Singer, continues to mystify judges and fans alike.
Debuting on March 26, 2025, Mad Scientist Monster has already captivated audiences with his velvety voice and elaborate costume. However, the show’s judges — Robin Thicke, Jenny McCarthy-Wahlberg, Ken Jeong, and Rita Ora — have yet to unravel the identity of this cuddly crooner.
“It’s a question that has clearly alluded the show’s judges, as they have not stumbled upon the correct identity of Mad Scientist Monster,” said the show’s co-host Nick Cannon, adding a light-hearted note that the absence of internet access on the panel makes the guessing game considerably tougher.
Despite the judges’ uncertainty, there is growing speculation, aided by clues from Mad Scientist Monster’s performances. Many now believe he is Brian Kelley, one half of the popular country music duo Florida Georgia Line. During his first clue package, Mad Scientist Monster stated he was “sidelined” from pursuing a career in sports and pivoted to music. Kelley previously played college baseball and was even scouted by professional teams.
One clue from the show featured a ship, likely referencing Kelley’s famous 2012 hit with Florida Georgia Line, “Cruise.” Another clue included a grandfather clock, which may hint at his song “American Spirit,” dedicated to his grandfather. Additionally, Mad Scientist Monster revealed he met his wife at a Friendsgiving dinner, which matches Kelley’s own love story.
Mad Scientist Monster showcased his vocal prowess by singing “Unwell” by Matchbox Twenty and “I Swear” by All-4-One during themed episodes. Judging panel guesses have included notable artists like Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, and Tim McGraw, but none have pinpointed Kelley as the potential identity.
In a statement during his performance, Mad Scientist Monster said, “Sometimes in life you think you have the perfect equation but then everything combusts. In the chaos, a new experiment bubbled to the surface, and I found my purpose in music.”
As speculation mounts, Kelley is set to compete in the Group C finals this Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET, where he will face off against contestants Nessy and Yorkie for a chance at a position in the season’s exclusive “lucky six.”
