Made In Chelsea Star Jamie Laing To Replace Jordan North On Radio 1's Drivetime Show

Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing has been announced as the new co-host to replace Jordan North on Radio 1’s popular Drivetime show. North, a longstanding presenter on the station, will be stepping down after 10 years, making way for Laing to take the helm alongside Vick Hope.

The transition is scheduled for March 4th, with Laing set to join Hope on the airwaves Monday through Thursday from 3:30 pm to 6:00 pm. Laing expressed his excitement, calling the opportunity a dream come true and expressing his eagerness to engage with listeners during their evening commutes.

Jamie Laing, known for his role on Made in Chelsea, previously filled in during Mollie King‘s maternity leave and has been a familiar voice on Radio 1. He has co-hosted popular podcasts such as ‘6 Degrees from Jamie and Spencer’ and ‘NewlyWeds’ with his wife Sophie Habboo.

Radio 1’s Head, Aled Haydn Jones, praised Laing’s ability to connect with young audiences and bring a fresh perspective to the Drivetime show. He also commended North for his contributions over the years, including his charitable efforts such as raising funds for Comic Relief through a rowing challenge from London to Burnley.

Jordan North, alongside Vick Hope, has entertained listeners with segments like ‘Judge Jordan,’ ‘Something Songs,’ and ‘Complete the Year.’ In addition to Radio 1, North co-hosts the popular podcast ‘Help I Sexted My Boss’ with William Hanson. His departure from the station marks the end of a significant era, leaving fans eager to see what lies ahead for the talented presenter.
