Mamelodi Sundowns have finalized the acquisition of 24-year-old wing wizard Kobamelo Kodisang, inking a five-year deal with the South African talent.

Kodisang makes the switch to the Brazilians from Moreirense, a reputable club in the Primeira Liga of Portugal, bringing his skill and flair back to South African football.

Brimming with enthusiasm, Kodisang expressed his delight stating, “Mamelodi Sundowns is a great team, ambitious, and always aiming for the top,” showcasing his excitement at joining the renowned club.

The versatile player commenced his professional journey at Platinum Stars before moving on to now-defunct BidVest Wits, propelling his career forward with determination.

In 2018, Kodisang ventured into Europe, landing at Sanjoanense in Portugal before securing a stint with SC Braga B, and finally, finding a home at Moreirense in the Primeira Liga.

His recent spell at Moreirense saw him amass 31 appearances, including 19 starts, showcasing his commitment and potential on the field and marking his presence in the Portuguese top flight.

Kodisang, who also earned a cap for Bafana Bafana in a friendly match against Namibia, joins the Downs as they bid farewell to midfielder Junior Mendieta, who has ventured to Greece to join Volos FC.

Sundowns, under the guidance of head coach Steve Komphela following a shake-up that included parting ways with Rulani Mokwena, have been reshaping their squad, bidding adieu to players like Bongani Zungu, Brian Onyango, Thabiso Kutumela, and Gaston Sirino, as they gear up for the upcoming season.
