Man Charged After Woman Found Dead in Lancaster County Car

LANCASTER, Pa. — Kevin Ahn, 30, has been charged with abuse of a corpse after a woman was found dead in a vehicle outside the Stiegel Manor Apartments on Monday afternoon.
Authorities were alerted by Ahn’s estranged sister, who reported his strange behavior and the alarming presence of a note on the dashboard of their mother’s SUV. According to the charging documents, she witnessed Ahn acting erratically, speaking gibberish, and had concerns about his mental state.
The sister told police that Ahn put a handwritten note on the dashboard that read, “Mom is in car. I’m sorry. Please give her a funeral. My brain is fried…” The note suggested distress and a need for immediate attention, indicating that he was clearly troubled.
After initially leaving the scene, Ahn returned approximately thirty minutes later, at which point his sister and her husband confronted him outside the apartment complex. At that moment, they discovered what appeared to be a human leg concealed beneath clothing and other items in the vehicle’s backseat.
As Ahn attempted to flee the scene, police apprehended him nearby. Following his arrest, authorities conducted a search of the vehicle and located the deceased woman, who showed signs of trauma, including a purple face and marks around her neck.
“This is a very disturbing case,” said a spokesperson for the Manheim Police Department. “We are working diligently to ascertain the details surrounding her death.”
The identity of the victim has not yet been released, and investigators are awaiting further information from the coroner’s office regarding the cause of death.
Ahn, who is currently being held without bail, has a prior criminal record that includes charges of harassment and disorderly conduct, according to court documents. He is awaiting a preliminary hearing, and authorities are urging anyone with additional information to come forward.
This tragic incident raises serious questions about the circumstances leading to the woman’s death and sheds light on mental health issues, further illustrated by the content of Ahn’s note.
