Manny Pacquiao Joins Netflix’s ‘Physical: Asia’ as Philippine Representative
MANILA, Philippines – Boxing legend Manny Pacquiao is set to represent the Philippines in Netflix‘s upcoming survival reality competition show, Physical: Asia. The series, a spin-off of the popular Physical: 100, will debut in the fourth quarter of this year, featuring top-tier athletes from across Asia competing in high-stakes team challenges.
The show expands on the original format by shifting from individual matchups to team-based competitions, with national pride at stake. Teams will represent their respective countries, and if one teammate fails a challenge, the entire squad is eliminated. This new twist raises the stakes and drama for participants and viewers alike.
Pacquiao, a former Philippine senator and the only boxer in history to win titles in eight weight divisions, brings unparalleled athletic credentials to the show. His career spans four decades, with world championship titles from the 1990s to the 2020s. At 40, he became the oldest welterweight world champion in history.
Netflix described the show as a “fierce face-off among Asia’s finest, with national pride on the line.” The first two seasons of Physical: 100 have consistently ranked in Netflix’s Global Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) for two consecutive years.
Fans can catch up on the first two seasons of Physical: 100 on Netflix while awaiting the official trailer and release date for Physical: Asia.
