Mariah Carey New Single Type Dangerous

New York, NY – Mariah Carey has returned with her first original solo song since 2019, titled “Type Dangerous.” The track was released on June 6, 2025, and features production by Carey, N.W.I., and Daniel Moore, along with a sample from the classic “Eric B. Is President” by Eric B. & Rakim.

“I’m so excited to finally be releasing ‘Type Dangerous’ into the world!” Carey said in a press statement. “I’ve been locked up in the studio for quite some time working my behind off on new music, and I’m thrilled for the unveiling of it to my fans.”

“Type Dangerous” is Carey’s first proper single in years. It follows her 2018 album “Caution,” which debuted at No. 5 on the Billboard charts. The new track showcases the 56-year-old singer’s confident style, featuring catchy lines such as, “I like them dangerous/ That’s my type.”

In the lead-up to the song’s release, Carey generated buzz by sharing teaser clips on her social media, hinting at her 16th studio album, labeled “MC16.” In one video, Carey was seen in a luxury car, with the plate displaying “MC16,” igniting speculation among her dedicated fans.

As she gears up for a new musical era, Carey is also celebrating the 20th anniversary of her iconic album “The Emancipation of Mimi” by releasing additional remixes and bonus tracks. The excitement around “Type Dangerous” signals a significant comeback for the pop icon, who continues to have a profound impact on the music industry.

“Type Dangerous” officially marks the start of a new chapter in Carey’s illustrious career. With the singer stating she has more music on the way, fans eagerly await developments on “MC16.”
