Mark Ruffalo Celebrates 25th Anniversary with Wife Sunrise

LOS ANGELES, CA — Actor Mark Ruffalo celebrated his 25th wedding anniversary with his wife, Sunrise Coigney, on Wednesday, June 11. The 57-year-old ‘Hulk’ star shared a heartfelt tribute to his wife on Instagram, reflecting on their journey together over the years.

“Happy 25th Anniversary, Sunrise, my love and partner and friend,” Ruffalo wrote. He continued with a poetic message, expressing the ups and downs of their marriage. “We gone up and got down, got in and get off, laughed when it was lousy, grew gardens with our tears, danced through fears and trudged and skipped through the years,” he said. “It’s not always been pretty, but it’s always been beautiful.”

The tribute included several romantic photos of the couple, featuring moments from their life together, such as kissing at the beach, relaxing at home, and enjoying time with their children. In one throwback image, Ruffalo noted, “25 years of everything god or devil had to give and still going strong. Grateful and humbled. Thank you, lover for it all.”

Ruffalo and Coigney met in 1998 while walking in Los Angeles and married in June 2000. They are parents to three children: son Keen, 23, and daughters Bella, 20, and Odette, 17. In a 2017 interview, Ruffalo recalled his first impression of Sunrise, saying, “I saw her and was like, I’m going to marry that girl.”

During his Hollywood Walk of Fame ceremony in February 2024, Ruffalo discussed the challenges of being married to an actor. “It’s not easy being married to an actor and being the children of an actor. I’m away a lot,” he said. “This whole thing is distorting and difficult.”

Just months before their anniversary, Ruffalo celebrated Sunrise’s 52nd birthday on Instagram, calling her a “magical being” and expressing his love for her. Sunrise responded in the comments, “I love you. Thank you.”
