The Marlow Murder Club, a new murder mystery series, has premiered on PBS, captivating audiences with its intricate plot and engaging characters. Created by Robert Thorogood, known for his work on Death in Paradise, the series follows the investigations of Judith Potts, a retired archaeologist, along with her friends Becks, the vicar’s wife, and Suzie Harris, a local dog walker.

The first episode, which aired on October 27, 2024, sets the stage for the series with a brutal murder in the peaceful town of Marlow. Judith Potts is drawn into the investigation after hearing a gunshot coming from her neighbor’s garden, leading to the discovery of the body of art dealer Stefan Dunwoody. As the story unfolds, another body is found – that of a taxi driver named Iqbal Kassam, discovered by Suzie Harris during her dog-walking routine.

Judith, Becks, and Suzie team up to assist the official police investigation, led by Tanika, as they navigate through a complex web of suspects, witnesses, and real danger. The series promises gripping plot twists and a satisfying conclusion, making it a must-watch for both casual murder mystery fans and crime enthusiasts.

The cast includes notable actors such as Samantha Bond, Jo Martin, and Cara Horgan, who bring their characters to life with natural and compelling performances. The show has already received positive reviews for its well-written script and the comfortable familiarity of its setting, which includes locations previously used in other popular mystery series like Midsomer Murders.
