Martha Stewart Documentary Netflix

A new documentary about Martha Stewart is poised to offer a comprehensive look into the life of the lifestyle entrepreneur, including her personal and professional highs and lows. The self-titled documentary, directed by R.J. Cutler, was officially announced on October 19, 2023, and is set to premiere on Netflix.

In the documentary, Stewart candidly discusses her experiences, including an extramarital affair. “I was considered crazy, but it worked. Young women listened to my advice,” said Stewart, aged 83, in the trailer for the Netflix program. Addressing her affair, she remarked, “Yeah, but I don’t think Andy ever knew about that.” Martha Stewart was married to Andrew Stewart from 1961 to 1990, with whom she shares a daughter.

Stewart rose to prominence with her media empire beginning with the debut of her Martha Stewart Living daytime series, which later inspired a magazine. Her success continued despite personal and legal challenges, including a five-month prison sentence in 2004 for conspiracy to obstruct and making false statements to federal investigators. “I had to climb out of a hole,” Stewart reflected.

The film, described as a “definitive documentary,” will include revealing interviews with Stewart and her close associates. It aims to trace her remarkable journey from a teenage model to America’s first self-made female billionaire.

The documentary also explores Stewart’s relationships in the entertainment industry, such as her friendship with rapper Snoop Dogg, and her modeling endeavors.

Martha Stewart celebrated her 83rd birthday on August 3 and continues to remain an active figure in the business world. Her home brand is highly sought after, and she is preparing for the release of her 100th cookbook, ‘Martha Stewart: The Cookbook’, in November. Speaking to Us Weekly, she stated, “What is more important? A marriage or a career? You tell me. I don’t know. The cookie-cutter house and the cookie-cutter life was not for me.”

The documentary, premiering on Netflix on October 30, will provide audiences with insights into both her personal decisions and business acumen, showcasing her motto of adapting and evolving through life’s changes.
