BURBANK, Calif. – Three months after its theatrical release, Marvel Studios has announced that Captain America: Brave New World will start streaming on Disney+ on May 28, 2025.

This film marked Marvel’s first theatrical release of the year, transitioning from Steve Rogers, portrayed by Chris Evans, to Sam Wilson, played by Anthony Mackie, who takes up the iconic shield of Captain America.

In a synopsis by Marvel, the storyline reveals that Sam Wilson meets with newly elected U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, portrayed by Harrison Ford. He finds himself embroiled in an international incident and must uncover a nefarious global plot.

The film has faced challenges at the box office, grossing $200 million in the U.S. and $415 million worldwide, ranking it among the least successful MCU films since the pandemic period.

Despite its financial struggles, Sam Wilson’s character is set to play a significant role in upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe narratives, particularly in Avengers: Doomsday, scheduled for next year, and Secret Wars in 2027.

Additionally, fans can anticipate the Thunderbolts, which is expected to stream on Disney+ in August. Marvel will also release The Fantastic Four: First Steps in theaters on July 25.
