Marvel Studios surprised fans with the release of the first teaser trailer and poster for the highly anticipated Captain America: Brave New World, introducing the unexpected additions of Red Hulk and Giancarlo Esposito to the cast.

Brave New World marks the fourth installment in the lucrative Captain America franchise within the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU), following the departure of fan-favorite Chris Evans as Steve Rogers in 2019’s Avengers: Endgame. Anthony Mackie, who portrayed Sam Wilson, also known as The Falcon, now assumes the iconic role of Captain America in this upcoming blockbuster.

In the teaser trailer, viewers caught their first glimpse of veteran actor Harrison Ford stepping into the shoes of U.S. President Thaddeus Ross, a character previously portrayed by the late William Hurt across five MCU films. To the surprise of many, the trailer hints at Ford’s transformation into the formidable superhero Red Hulk, a persona taken from the original comics.

Captain America: Brave New World, set to hit theaters on February 14, 2025, is helmed by director Julius Onah and produced by the visionary duo of Kevin Feige and Nate Moore. Executive producers Louis D’Esposito and Charles Newirth further contribute to the project’s creative team.

The cast also welcomes Giancarlo Esposito to the MCU, playing a mysterious villain whose identity is yet to be officially disclosed by Marvel Studios. Speculations suggest that Esposito might embody the character of George Washington “G. W.” Bridge, created by Fabian Nicieza and Robert Liefeld, known for his association with S.H.I.E.L.D and expert combat skills.

Veteran actor Tim Blake Nelson returns to reprise his role as Samuel Sterns, alias Leader, from the early MCU installment, The Incredible Hulk. Joining the ensemble is Danny Ramirez, making his MCU film debut as Joaquin Torres, a former U.S. Air Force lieutenant tied to Sam Wilson, and Shira Haas as Ruth Bat-Seraph, a character transitioning from the Black Widow storyline.

This star-studded lineup also features Carl Lumbly as Isaiah Bradley, Liv Tyler as the scientist Betty Ross, as well as Xosha Roquemore and more in supporting roles, promising an action-packed and intriguing narrative in Captain America: Brave New World.
