Matt Hardy Discusses The Hardys’ Potential WWE Return
ORLANDO, Florida (AP) — Matt Hardy, a wrestling veteran and current TNA star, opened up about the possibility of The Hardys returning to WWE for a final run. On the latest episode of his podcast, Hardy discussed his aspirations for a partnership between TNA and WWE.
Hardy expressed his interest in seeing himself and his brother Jeff perform in WWE as “legacy acts.” He highlighted their history with the company and mentioned he would like to see them appear in special matches on NXT, RAW, and SmackDown. “I definitely think there is a lot of interesting, exciting stuff that can be done,” Hardy said. He emphasized that if they return, it should be short and impactful.
“It’s not like we’re going to be there and we’re booking all the way from WrestleMania 44 to 45,” he added. “I think when we come in and we have a short, explosive little run, I think that’s where we’re used in our most optimal way.” Hardy was optimistic about WWE and TNA’s current partnership, citing strong fan reactions during their recent appearances.
“The feedback we received was strong and valuable,” Hardy noted. When asked about potential opponents, he mentioned several tag teams he would like to face, including The Wyatt Squad, Street Profits, and The Motor City Machine Guns. “It would be nice to have what would feel like some sort of semblance of a dream match,” Hardy stated.
Recently, The Hardys won the NXT Tag Team Titles but lost them back to DarkState at Halloween Havoc. As the wrestling world anticipates their next move, Hardy remains hopeful about the future and what it could hold.
“I think it’s feasible or possible as far as doing this with WWE,” he concluded, hinting that fans could see more from The Hardys in the near future.
