McBride Leads James Madison Past Omaha in 88-77 Victory

MIAMI (AP) — Justin McBride scored 24 points to lead James Madison in an 88-77 victory over Omaha on Tuesday during the FIU MTE.

In addition to his scoring, McBride also grabbed five rebounds, helping the Dukes improve their record to 5-3. Preston Fowler contributed significantly with 18 points, shooting 6 of 8 from beyond the arc, while Cliff Davis added 15 points, shooting 6 for 9 overall.

The Mavericks, who now stand at 2-5, were led by Lance Waddles, who finished the game with 18 points, 10 rebounds, and seven assists. Khamani Cooper helped the team with 16 points and two steals. Christian Richardson also made an impact by scoring 11 points, along with recording two steals and three blocks.

The matchup was part of the early-season FIU MTE, where teams are looking to establish momentum for the remainder of the season. James Madison’s solid performance showcased their offensive capabilities, especially with key players like McBride and Fowler stepping up.
