Mega Zeraora Debuts in Upcoming Pokémon DLC

REDMOND, Wash. — Game Freak has officially unveiled Mega Zeraora, a newly-evolved form of the Legendary Pokémon, set to appear in the upcoming downloadable content (DLC) for Pokémon Legends: Z-A, titled Mega Dimension. The expansion launches on December 10, 2025, for Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2.

The announcement came with a trailer showcasing details about Mega Zeraora’s abilities, which include the capacity to release massive amounts of electric energy. According to a press release, this Mega Evolution removes internal limits on Zeraora’s electric energy, allowing it to unleash attacks capable of defeating several opponents at once.

“The electric energy it stores in its body is equivalent to ten bolts of lightning,” the official description states. “Protrusions on its forehead, chest, back, and hands emit a pale blue light, indicating its power.” The addition of Mega Zeraora is highly anticipated by fans, especially since multiple leaks regarding this Pokémon’s potential had circulated prior to the announcement.

Players will gain access to Mega Zeraora through the Mega Dimension DLC’s main story, which must be purchased separately. Unlike prior events, it does not seem like Mega Zeraora will be available through the Mystery Gift feature. Specifically, players are advised to pay attention for opportunities to encounter this Mythical Pokémon as they progress through the expansion.

In real-time combat, Speed is a crucial factor, and Mega Zeraora boasts one of the highest Speed stats in the game at 153. Its impressive speed will likely make it a favorite among players aiming to dominate battles.
