NEW YORK, NY — Megyn Kelly has criticized Blake Lively, calling her a “serial fraudster” during a recent episode of “The Megyn Kelly Show” as new details about Lively’s legal dispute with her “It Ends With Us” co-star and director Justin Baldoni emerge.
On February 13, 2025, Kelly discussed the ongoing legal battle on her SiriusXM radio show, asserting that Lively’s actions have severely damaged her reputation in Hollywood. “My own position is she’s absolutely ruined her brand. She has started a fight she cannot win,” Kelly commented, referencing Lively’s lawsuits against Baldoni, including accusations of sexual harassment.
Lively’s allegations have recently re-entered public discourse as she claims Baldoni orchestrated a smear campaign against her following the film’s release in August 2024. Baldoni has denied any wrongdoing and filed a countersuit against Lively and her husband, actor Ryan Reynolds, alleging defamation.
Kelly expressed skepticism about Lively’s legal claims, stating, “I have yet to see one of her complaints borne out. In fact, all of the ones I’ve seen have been undermined by his hardcore proof in text messaging and so on.” Kelly further emphasized the significance of Baldoni’s evidence, suggesting it alters the perception of Lively’s accusations.
The feud escalated towards the end of 2024 after Lively filed her lawsuit in December, but it didn’t come without controversy. Kelly pointed out that Lively’s interview comments suggested she had secret plans for control over the film’s creative direction. “That’s called fraud when you pretend you’ll do the thing they’re hiring you for, but all along, you have secret plans to do something very, very different that’s above your pay grade,” Kelly asserted.
Continuing her critique, Kelly claimed that Lively was leveraging her star power against Baldoni, whom she described as less recognized in the industry. “He’d been in like one series. He certainly wasn’t at Ryan Reynolds level fame, never mind Blake Lively, and she bullied him into giving her the movie where she did her own cut,” Kelly said.
The legal proceedings are set to intensify, as a joint trial regarding the allegations is scheduled for March 2026. As the drama unfolds, Lively’s Hollywood presence remains largely intact, though there are signs of difficulty. Last month, director Paul Feig announced that Lively’s upcoming film, “Another Simple Favor,” has been shelved amid the ongoing turmoil.
Despite the negative attention, Lively was praised by Filmmaker Feig, who described her as “a dream to work with” in confirming the film’s scheduled premiere at South by Southwest next month. Kelly’s comments add another layer of complexity to the already contentious landscape surrounding the legal dispute between Lively and Baldoni.
