Rosario “Rose” Richardson, a beloved figure known for her warmth, compassion, and resilience, passed away on Sunday, October 13, 2024. She died peacefully surrounded by family at her cherished ranch in Fayetteville, Arkansas. Born on September 1, 1940, in El Paso, Texas, Rose was the daughter of Manuel and Carolina Davila.

Rose graced the world with 84 years of unwavering love and support, endearing her to all who knew her. As a devoted spouse to Nolan Richardson, and a cherished mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Rose’s life was a testament to unconditional love and family dedication. “She was the ultimate team player and finisher,” her husband Nolan fondly recalled.

Throughout her life, Rose demonstrated immense strength and resilience, particularly in overcoming personal losses, such as the death of her daughter, Yvonne Richardson, to leukemia. Despite these challenges, Rose found comfort and healing in her love for animals and remained a source of inspiration for those around her.

Predeceased by her parents, daughters Yvonne Richardson and Sylvia Sanchez, bonus son Nolan Richardson III, and sister Maria Elena Hernandez, Rose’s legacy continues to thrive through her surviving family. She is survived by her husband Nolan Richardson, Jr., grandson Daniel Sanchez, bonus daughter Madalyn Richardson, and bonus son Bradley Richardson. Her surviving siblings include Consuelo Piña, Manuel Davila, Irene Davila, Armando Davila, Mario Davila, Ramon Torres, and Hilda Davila, all residing in El Paso, Texas.

Her memory is celebrated by numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Rose’s legacy of love is also carried forward by the Yvonne Richardson Memorial Foundation, which family requests receive any memorial contributions in lieu of flowers.

A visitation is scheduled for Tuesday, October 22, 2024, at St. Raphael Catholic Church in El Paso, Texas, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary at 7:00 p.m. Following this, a Mass honoring her life will be held at the same venue on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. The burial will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, El Paso.
