Seth Meyers Roasting Trump On Groceries

NEW YORK, N.Y. — Seth Meyers delivered a sharp critique of President Donald Trump’s recent campaign promises regarding grocery prices during his “Late Night” program Wednesday. The comedian targeted Trump’s failure to lower grocery costs on his first day back in the White House, emphasizing rising inflation instead.

“Trump has no plan to solve any of that, so now he’s acting as if he’s a helpless bystander,” Meyers stated. His comments came in response to a series of statements made by Trump about the cost of living, including specific mentions of bacon and grocery prices.

Citing footage of Trump mumbling on these issues, Meyers quipped, “Oh man, you know he doesn’t have a plan when he starts riffing on groceries.” The remarks highlighted a disconnect between Trump’s rhetoric and the economic realities many Americans face, as prices continue to escalate.

In addition to Meyers, comedian Jordan Klepper also weighed in on Trump’s administrative strategies, particularly in a recent White House press conference. Klepper noted the awkwardness of the situation while discussing government programs that have been significantly curtailed under Trump’s leadership.

“It’s incredibly important that the president, the House and the Senate decide what happens, as opposed to a large unelected bureaucracy,” Elon Musk reportedly said. Klepper sharply countered this assertion, questioning Musk’s role as a non-elected figure.

“Wow! I mean, you see why this guy’s a genius,” Klepper remarked sarcastically. “You don’t want an unelected bureaucrat running the country. It makes a lotta sense. No questions here. I do have one question, though: Isn’t that you?”

Further challenging Musk’s perspective, Klepper drew attention to the lack of transparency surrounding Musk’s initiatives. He pointed out that while other government officials must adhere to transparency guidelines, Musk’s decisions regarding his projects were often exempt from such regulations.

“Am I going crazy? Because it feels like I’m watching Drake sing ‘Not Like Us’ at karaoke,” Klepper reflected. “Does he not know?”

The conversation took a turn as Musk faced criticism for disabling accounts of those who disclosed information about his task force. Klepper remarked, “So, Elon, I gotta tell you: I don’t think you’re being that transparent.” Musk, in a defense of his actions, insisted he is “maximally transparent.”

Klepper concluded with a clip depicting Musk’s anticipation of continuous scrutiny, where Musk compared himself to someone expecting “a daily proctology exam.” Klepper humorously updated Musk: “Well, I did the exam, and what an asshole!”

Meyers’ and Klepper’s comedic critiques underscore the ongoing challenges the Trump administration faces regarding public perception and accountability.
