Miami Hurricanes Celebrate Win Over Florida State in Riveting Showdown

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The Miami Hurricanes made a statement on Saturday night, defeating the Florida State Seminoles 28-19 and celebrating with placards declaring BACK TO BACK STATE CHAMPS. The victory marked a pivotal moment for Miami as this was the first time the two teams faced off as ranked opponents since 2016.
Miami jumped out to an impressive 28-3 lead in the fourth quarter, powered by standout performances from quarterback Emory Beck and receivers A.J. Toney and Jacolby George. Despite a late-game rally from Florida State, the Hurricanes held their ground, securing their fifth consecutive victory of the season.
Miami’s coach, Mario Cristobal, expressed the importance of the win, stating, “It lasts an entire year. Being a University of Miami Hurricane means that this game, you find a way to get it done.” This year’s matchup saw Miami emphasizing their signature aggressive play style that has become part of their legacy.
Beck showcased his skills by going 20-of-27 for 241 yards and four touchdowns, while Toney and Daniels each added two touchdowns. The Hurricanes, however, recorded their lowest rushing total of the season with only 97 yards.
Beck explained the team’s approach, saying, “It was an emphasis of ours to come into the game and try to take a few more shots.” The Miami swagger was evident, especially when Daniels celebrated by mockingly performing the Seminoles chant after his touchdowns.
Though Cristobal acknowledged the importance of maintaining discipline, he highlighted the blend of Miami’s storied past and modern football principles. He aims to continue refining the team’s performance as they prepare for their next matchup.
Defensive back Kamren Kinchens emphasized that the team is not yet satisfied, which signals their potential for greatness. “Whatever shows on film that you’re not good at, it’s going to get exposed. We’ve got a long ways to go,” Cristobal concluded.
