Michael B. Jordan Vampire Thriller

Los Angeles, CA – Michael B. Jordan has reaffirmed his star power with the success of the vampire thriller “Sinners,” directed by Ryan Coogler, which has earned over $350 million worldwide since its release earlier this year.

In a cover story for New York Magazine, Jordan explained that he intentionally limits his social media presence and press interactions about his personal life to “create a demand” for himself as a star. This approach seems to be paying off, given the box office success of “Sinners.”

Jordan revealed that Denzel Washington, one of his biggest inspirations, advised him to stay offline to avoid overexposure. Washington posed a thought-provoking question to Jordan: “Why would they pay to see you on a weekend if they see you all week for free?”

After transitioning from television to film, Jordan has been working toward movie stardom. He started his career in films like “Hardball” as a child before gaining recognition for supporting roles in popular TV shows such as “The Wire” and “Friday Night Lights.”

Reflecting on his journey, Jordan noted, “I was really unsure of what my career was going to be [12 years ago]. Am I a TV actor? Where am I going? I just want an independent film to show what I can do, and I need to know if I could carry a film or not.”

His breakthrough came when he received the script for “Fruitvale Station” and met with Coogler, the film’s director. The meeting changed the course of his career as Coogler believed in Jordan’s potential, stating he wanted to show the world that Jordan was indeed a movie star.

“Fruitvale Station” garnered critical acclaim and paved the way for Jordan and Coogler’s future collaborations, including blockbusters such as “Creed” and “Black Panther.” With the success of “Sinners,” both are expected to continue their winning streak.

Phillip Sun, Jordan’s manager, emphasized that Jordan deserved to be a leading man without being typecast, highlighting, “He happens to be a Black leading man. But we weren’t chasing roles just based on color.”

Despite his fame, Jordan remains cautious about his public persona. He doesn’t maintain accounts on popular social media platforms like X or TikTok, but he does have an Instagram with 25 million followers, where he makes infrequent posts primarily during film promotions.

Jordan’s commitment to Washington’s advice remains evident as he continues to build his career while maintaining a sense of mystery around his personal life.
