Michael Strahan Takes Break from GMA to Relax with Family

NEW YORK – Michael Strahan, co-anchor of ABC’s popular morning show “Good Morning America,” has been noticeably absent for the past two weeks, sparking curiosity among viewers about his whereabouts. The former NFL superstar is currently enjoying a much-deserved break amidst a hectic schedule that includes hosting “The $100,000 Pyramid” and “Fox NFL Sunday“.
In a social media announcement, Strahan hinted at the reason behind his absence, stating he’s taking time off to spend with his family, which includes his four children and stepson. Regularly balancing multiple high-profile roles, Strahan has maintained a significant presence in the entertainment industry since he joined “GMA” in 2014.
This week, Strahan took to social media to promote his menswear line, Michael Strahan Brand, sharing a video focused on his range of suits. The post featured a playful caption: “SUIT UP: Choose your fabric! Our suits are made with stretch functionality baked in, so you can stay active while looking good! Design yours now at michaelstrahan.com! Use discount code RAISEYOURGAME10 for 10% off at checkout.” His dedication to his clothing line highlights Strahan’s entrepreneurial spirit.
During his downtime, Strahan is also celebrating his daughter’s achievements. Isabella, 20, recently caught the spotlight in a modeling campaign for Kenneth Cole, and her proud father was quick to comment on her social media posts, highlighting their close family ties. Strahan’s personal life faced challenges last year, as Isabella underwent treatment for a brain tumor, a journey she documented on her YouTube channel. In July, she celebrated her recovery after a year-long fight against the illness.
Recapping her journey, Isabella reflected on the drastic changes she faced and expressed gratitude for her progress, saying, “Thankful for the progress I’ve made.” Strahan’s family oriented side shines through as he freely dates his support of Isabella and much-needed family time during her recovery.
Adding to the joyous moments for Strahan, he also became a grandfather for the first time in September 2024. His older daughter, Tanita, welcomed a son named Onyx, which Strahan announced excitedly on air, calling his new role “amazing” and a “great addition to the family.”n
As he returns to work, Strahan’s colleagues, including Robin Roberts and George Stephanopoulos, welcome back the dynamic anchor with open arms, especially after being supportive during his daughter’s health issues.
Strahan’s break serves as a poignant reminder of the delicate balance between career and family, especially during significant personal challenges. As viewers await his return to the morning show, the anticipation continues for new episodes of “The $100,000 Pyramid,” which recently launched its eighth season.
