Miley Cyrus Drops New Single and Teases Upcoming Visual Album

LOS ANGELES, CA — Miley Cyrus released her new single “End of the World” on April 3, 2025, accompanied by a sultry music video as a precursor to her upcoming album, “Something Beautiful,” set to debut on May 30.
The music video features Cyrus dancing against a hazy backdrop, showcasing her in a shimmering green sequined dress. Through a gauzy filter, she delivers the song’s catchy hook: “Let’s pretend it’s not the end of the world.” The lyrics also pay homage to Paul McCartney and mention “driving out to Malibu for one last time.”
In a statement made last month, Cyrus described the visual album, executive produced by herself and Shawn Everett, as being inspired by Pink Floyd‘s “The Wall.” She aims to create a concept that, as she puts it, aims to “medicate somewhat of a sick culture through music.”
“My idea was making ‘The Wall,’ but with a better wardrobe and more glamorous and filled with pop culture,” Cyrus explained during an interview in November. She described the project as both “hypnotizing and glamorous.”
Less than a week after announcing the album, Cyrus dropped its first two songs: the spoken word piece “Prelude” and the title track “Something Beautiful,” which also received a music video directed by Cyrus and collaborators Jacob Bixenman and Brendan Walter.
This album will feature 13 original tracks and will be accompanied by a film produced in collaboration with Sony Music Vision, Columbia Records, and Live Nation, set for release in June.
In the retro-style video for “End of the World,” Cyrus channels an Eighties vibe, performing on a vintage soundstage. The visuals mirror her nostalgic lyrics, which encourage embracing life and seizing the moment despite a seemingly uncertain future. “Let’s spend the dollars you’ve been savin’ on a Mercedes-Benz… and throw a party like McCartney with some help from my friends,” she sings.
Earlier this week, Cyrus expressed her excitement for her upcoming project on social media, hinting at the unique blend of personal and modern themes in her music. “Something Beautiful” follows her 2023 release, “Endless Summer Vacation,” which included the hit song “Flowers.”n
