Mint Mobile Launches Affordable 5G Home Internet Service

City, State – Mint Mobile has launched its new 5G home internet service called MINTernet, offering consumers an affordable option for high-speed connectivity. Starting at $30 per month for those who bundle it with a Mint phone plan, the service leverages T-Mobile‘s nationwide 5G network.
MINTernet promises unlimited data, operating under the stipulation that after exceeding 1 terabyte of usage, users may experience reduced speeds. Typical download speeds range from 133 to 415 Mbps, while upload speeds can reach up to 55 Mbps. The latency is expected to be between 16 to 28 ms, making it suitable for most online tasks.
The introductory pricing requires a three-month commitment at $90 upfront. Standalone plans cost $40 per month. For existing Mint Mobile customers or those who want to add a phone plan, the price drops to $30 per month for the same three-month commitment.
MINTernet also offers longer plans: a six-month option priced at $45 per month and a 12-month plan at $40 per month. All plans come with a free 5G gateway and a 14-day money-back guarantee, allowing customers to test the service prior to full commitment.
Brandon Hill, a technology expert, noted that Mint Mobile’s entry into home internet could significantly disrupt the market, particularly for consumers looking for budget-friendly options. ‘With average home internet costs around $70, Mint’s $30 service could attract many new users,’ he said.
The ease of setup and lack of contracts appeal to millennials and those seeking flexible options. However, industry watchers advise potential customers to evaluate their local 5G coverage, as performance may vary depending on location.
Mint Mobile’s parent company, T-Mobile, provides it with a robust infrastructure, enhancing service capabilities. This positioning aims to attract customers away from traditional broadband providers by offering a low-cost, efficient alternative.
