Missing Arkansas Teen Located Safe with North Carolina Boy
The Arkansas State Police confirmed that a 14-year-old girl from Logan County, who was believed to have been traveling with someone she met online, has been found safe. The authorities have inactivated the AMBER Alert that was issued for Trixie Studer, of Ratcliff, Arkansas.
The Logan County Sheriff's Office had issued the AMBER Alert on Friday, October 18, after Studer was last seen around 7:30 p.m. that evening. The young teenager was believed to be in the company of 14-year-old Sam Smith, whom she had met on the internet. They were reportedly traveling in a silver Kia SUV with its license plate removed, making identification challenging.
According to a news release, Sam Smith was last seen purchasing items at the Handy Way convenience store in Caulksville, Arkansas, on the evening of October 18. Smith had been reported missing from Wadesboro, North Carolina, just a day prior on Thursday, October 17.
On Saturday, October 19, Arkansas State Police reported that both teenagers were found unharmed. The AMBER Alert was consequently deactivated as both Studer and Smith were considered endangered at the time of the alert.
The prompt coordination between state and local law enforcement, as well as the timely AMBER Alert, played crucial roles in ensuring the safety of the teenagers, according to officials involved in managing the case.
