Molly Ringwald Recounts Daughter's Epic 16th Birthday Party

Former teen star Molly Ringwald has shared a hilarious story about her daughter Mathilda‘s 16th birthday party. During her appearance on , Ringwald revealed that Mathilda threw an epic bash at their home, which turned into a wild event.

Ringwald, known for her iconic roles in ’80s classics like Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, discussed her experiences as a parent of teenagers. Reflecting on being considered the ‘patron saint of teenagers,’ she admitted that even she wasn’t fully prepared for what was to come.

The actress explained that while she and her husband, Panio Gianopoulos, were attending a literary event, Mathilda organized a party at their house. However, things quickly got out of hand when the number of attendees grew to about 200 people before they returned home.

The scene resembled something out of one of Ringwald’s movies, multiplied by three or ten, she said. Chaos ensued, and to everyone’s surprise, the police were eventually called to the scene. Mathilda, who apparently had seen one too many episodes of Law & Orders, confidently told the police that they couldn’t enter without a warrant.

The police eventually managed to disperse the crowd and restore order. Looking back on the incident, Ringwald admitted that she should have been more prepared for a potential party of that magnitude. Although Mathilda is now 20 years old, the “rager” they experienced has become legendary in their small town.
