Mom Shares Scary Pool Incident with Son Buddy

Los Angeles, CA – Brie Bella, a retired professional wrestler and mother of two, recalled a frightening moment involving her son Buddy, 4, during a recent episode of SiriusXM’s podcast. Bella, who also has an 8-year-old daughter Birdie, was watching her children swim at a local pool when an unexpected event unfolded.

“Birdie’s actually really great at swimming now. It’s like really crazy to see her do laps, and Buddy’s like good in the shallow end, but he freaks out when he gets to the deep end,” Bella explained. Although she had decided against swimming herself, she kept a close eye on both kids.

The incident began when an older child tossed an item into the deep end and told Buddy to fetch it. Despite Bella’s earlier warnings, Buddy jumped into the deep water. Bella described her immediate reaction: “Birdie’s like, ‘He’s drowning.’ So dramatic. So, I sprint and jump into the deep end.”

Once Bella rescued Buddy, she noticed the silence around her, as onlookers stared at the scene. “I just was like, ‘Damn, you know, that is what I deserve,’” she reflected. She acknowledged that had she been in her swimsuit, she would have felt more prepared.

Her husband, Bryan Danielson, provided some reassurance, saying, “At least you watch the kids like a hawk.” Bella also advised Buddy, “Just because someone tells you to fetch, doesn’t mean you go.”
