MoMo Bros Bodega to Open in Atlanta This Spring

Atlanta, GA – MoMo Bros Bodega is set to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 806 M.L.K. Jr Drive SW in April, bringing a taste of New York to local customers.
The bodega, which previously operated as a food truck, aims to provide students and residents with quick, flavorful meals inspired by New York City bodega-style food. Menu offerings will include dishes such as oxtail mac and cheese, jerk chicken mac and cheese, loaded fries, and vegan options.
Ethan Drakes, co-founder of MoMo Bros, emphasized the focus on convenience and quality, describing their food as “easy, fast food but freshly made.” Drakes co-runs the establishment with his brother, deriving inspiration from their family’s deep roots in the restaurant business.
Before launching the food truck, Drakes started selling cold cuts to fellow Morehouse College students, catering to those who might struggle to find late-night dining options off-campus. “I made sure it was accessible for students to walk,” Drakes said, underscoring his commitment to serving the community he knows well.
The bodega will reside next to the well-known Busy Bee Cafe and near Clark Atlanta University, positioning it conveniently for college students. Drakes shared a personal philosophy: “Everybody needs to eat. You’ll always have business.”
Drakes also reflected on the joy of providing comforting meals, saying, “When I see the smiling faces of customers, I realize what a blessing it is to be able to provide that for others.” Updates on the bodega’s opening will be available on their Instagram account.
In addition to MoMo Bros Bodega, the Drakes brothers will have a presence at the Atlanta Hawks’ annual HBCU Night at State Farm Arena on Feb. 23, 2025, further solidifying their engagement with the community.
