GENOA, Italy — MSC has announced improvements to its MEDUSEC and EMUSA transatlantic services, part of its newly launched standalone East/West Network, aimed at offering clients faster transit times and a wider range of direct port connections.

The MEDUSEC service now boasts an industry-leading transit time of just nine days between Genoa and New York. This significant improvement is accomplished by eliminating stops in Barcelona and Sines. Barcelona has been integrated into the EMUSA service, while Sines will continue to connect with the U.S. East Coast through the EMUSA service.

These adjustments are designed to enhance trade connectivity for islands in the Tyrrhenian Sea, such as Sardinia and Sicily, through MSC’s feeder services. Additionally, they will improve access for inland regions in Italy to the U.S. East Coast via MSC’s intermodal network.

MSC’s standalone East/West network includes 11 transatlantic services, providing comprehensive trade links between Europe and the U.S., featuring a broad array of direct calls and competitive transit times.
