MTN Renews Partnership with Ericsson for Business Support Systems Solutions
MTN Group and Ericsson have announced the renewal of their partnership for the provision of Ericsson Charging, Ericsson Mediation, and Ericsson Dynamic Activation solutions for the next five years. This partnership is aimed at modernizing MTN Group’s Business Support Systems (BSS) ecosystem to support new business models such as 5G and Internet of Things (IoT) across Africa.
The agreement aligns with MTN Group’s Ambition 2025 strategy, focusing on cloud-native transformation and growth in connectivity and infrastructure businesses. It will enhance revenue streams, billing accuracy, new service offerings, revenue assurance, and data monetization through analytics and IoT preparations.
Mazen Mroue, MTN Group Chief Technology and Information Officer, expressed the company’s commitment to innovation and operational efficiency through the collaboration with Ericsson. This strategic move is in line with MTN’s goal of offering pioneering services to customers while achieving cost efficiency at scale.
Hossam Kandeel, Vice President and Head of Global Customer Unit MTN and Customer Unit MTN Africa at Ericsson Middle East and Africa, emphasized the importance of providing technology solutions that enable MTN to capture revenue streams and deliver superior service experiences in Africa.
