Natalie Gold Returns to ‘Law & Order’ Amidst Family Tragedy

NEW YORK, April 3, 2025 — Natalie Gold takes center stage as an attorney defending a father accused of manslaughter in the death of his daughter in the latest episode of NBC’s ‘Law & Order.’
The episode, titled ‘A Perfect Family,’ aired on April 3, 2025, showcasing Gold’s portrayal of Megan Wallace. She represents Derek Chapman, played by Brett Zimmerman, who faces trial for the tragic death of his 12-year-old daughter, Emily.
Emily’s mother, Melinda Chapman, portrayed by Allison Miller, threw their daughter over an overpass during an episode of postpartum psychosis. Gold’s character, Megan, must navigate the complexities of domestic mental health issues while defending Derek, who had knowledge of his wife’s struggles yet did not seek help for her condition.
Gold’s recent role adds to her impressive career, including a notable performance as Rava Roy on HBO‘s ‘Succession,’ where she played Kendall Roy’s ex-wife caught in the turmoil of a power-hungry media family. ‘Succession is a hard thing to recover from,’ Gold remarked in 2024. ‘It’s such a beautiful, incredible experience that it’s hard to move on to the next thing.’
Prior to her recent appearance, Gold was featured in a 2023 episode of ‘Law & Order,’ revisiting the character of Megan Wallace after first appearing as Alex in 2006. Her extensive résumé also includes roles in ‘The Leftovers,’ ‘The Walking Dead: World Beyond,’ and the Oscar-winning film ‘Birdman.’
Gold’s depth of experience allows her to bring nuance to her characters, particularly in shows that address the challenges of family dynamics and societal issues. With ‘Law & Order’ continuing to tackle controversial and timely subjects, her performance serves as a reminder of the show’s enduring impact.
‘Law & Order’ airs Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET on NBC, with episodes available for streaming on Peacock the following day.
