Nate Bargatze Invites Jimmy Fallon to Perform at Madison Square Garden

New York, NY — Comedian Nate Bargatze, fresh off his latest stand-up tour, invited fellow comedian Jimmy Fallon to join him at Madison Square Garden for three performances scheduled in September. During an appearance on ‘The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon’ on May 6, Bargatze posed the question directly to Fallon, asking, ‘Would you come do the shows with me at Madison Square Garden?’
Bargatze, who is currently on his ‘Big Dumb Eyes World Tour,’ emphasized that Fallon would not be performing alone. He mentioned that Fallon would be on the bill alongside his magician father, Stephen Bargatze, and comedian Julian McCullough. Despite the initial surprise, Fallon accepted the invitation, albeit hesitantly. ‘I don’t have an act. I don’t do this,’ he replied, concerned about stepping back into the comedy spotlight.
Bargatze playfully urged Fallon to prepare to deliver a real performance rather than just ‘speak.’ ‘You don’t say it like that as a comedian. I want you to do more than speak. Give a lecture, Jimmy! No, you be a comedian for like 20 minutes,’ he joked.
Fallon joined Bargatze for past performances in Albany and Syracuse, making his reluctance seem a bit modest. Bargatze reassured him, saying, ‘You know it works in Albany and Syracuse, so now it’s time to take it to the big top!’
The Madison Square Garden shows are set for September 26 and 27. Tickets for the performances are still available. During the show, Bargatze also shared insights about his upcoming book, which intentionally includes blank pages. He explained that this design reflects his struggle with reading and his comedic philosophy regarding the number of words in books.
‘Reading, I believe, is the key to smart. That’s what I’ve always said, and I don’t do it because every book is just the most words,’ Bargatze stated. He noted that convincing his publisher to allow the blank pages was a significant triumph for him.
This invitation marks a significant moment in Bargatze’s career, as he described ‘The Tonight Show’ as pivotal in his rise as a comedian. ‘As everybody that has followed my career knows, The Tonight Show has meant a lot to me,’ he said, underscoring the platform’s role in his journey from performing stand-up to headlining at one of the world’s most renowned venues.
