National Apple Harvest Festival Kicks Off 61st Year in Adams County
ADAMS COUNTY, Pa. — The National Apple Harvest Festival is back for its 61st year, bringing joy to thousands of attendees from across Pennsylvania. This popular event will take place on October 4 and 5, and again on October 11 and 12.
This year’s festival features over 300 vendors showcasing local and regional products. Attendees can enjoy live music, steam engine demonstrations, and pony rides, among other activities. Culinary enthusiasts will find a wide range of apple-based dishes, as well as non-apple options. Organizers predict a strong demand for candy and caramel apples, with several hundred expected to be sold.
According to the festival’s website, proceeds from the event are allocated in a meaningful way. Forty-nine percent will fund Oakside Community Park, while 20% will support the Upper Adams Jaycees. Another 20% will be donated to local civic, school, church, and scouting organizations, along with fire companies. The final 11% is reserved for emergencies.
The festival grounds will be spacious, and attendees will find clearly marked walkways to navigate the area. Fire police will be on hand to assist with parking, which is available at the festival grounds and included in the admission price.
General admission is set at $10 for adults, $9 for seniors and military members, while children 12 and under can enter for free. Tickets are available online or at the gate.
Gates will open at 8 a.m. on Saturdays, closing at 6 p.m. They will reopen on Sundays at 8 a.m. and remain open until 5 p.m. The festival will go on rain or shine, promising a fun-filled experience for all.
