Nationwide Building Society Bonus Announcement

Nationwide, UK

Nationwide Building Society customers who actively used their current accounts in March 2025 may qualify for a £100 summer bonus as part of the building society’s Fairer Share scheme. This potential payout aims to reward loyal customers and has already benefited over three million account holders over the past two years.

The Fairer Share scheme encourages customer engagement by providing financial incentives. To qualify for the £100 bonus, customers must have made debit card purchases, maintained direct debits, or received income during March. They must also hold either a mortgage or a savings account with at least £100 in savings or debt.

Last year’s criteria were similar; customers needed to use their current accounts until March 31, 2024. If rules remain the same this year, those who were active in March could anticipate a payday if they meet the savings or mortgage requirements.

Although Nationwide has not officially confirmed the return of the Fairer Share scheme, insiders believe it is likely due to the positive feedback from previous initiatives. An official announcement is expected on May 29, 2025, with payments anticipated in June.

This potential payout would come following Nationwide’s recent £50 ‘big thank you’ payments to over 12 million customers in April 2025, which recognized member support after the acquisition of Virgin Money in October 2024. Nationwide executives state these initiatives aim to incentivize customer loyalty in a competitive banking market.

For customers uncertain of their eligibility for the £100 bonus, Nationwide advises checking account status through online tools. Financial expert Martin Lewis encourages keeping accounts active and meeting the minimum criteria to maximize chances of receiving bonuses.

It’s important to note that the Fairer Share scheme reliance on Nationwide’s financial health means it is not guaranteed to run every year. However, senior executives have expressed a commitment to continue the initiative in 2025.

The anticipated £100 bonus represents more than just financial gain for Nationwide customers. It underscores the building society’s commitment to customer loyalty and engagement as it seeks to positively impact its member base.

As the announcement date approaches, customers are advised to stay informed about the eligibility criteria to fully benefit from this promising opportunity.
