Nayanthara And Dhanush Dispute Over Netflix Documentary

Tamil actress Nayanthara has publicly criticized her fellow actor Dhanush after he sent her a legal notice demanding Rs 10 crore over the use of visuals from their 2015 film, Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, in her upcoming Netflix documentary, Nayanthara: Beyond the Fairytale.

In a lengthy statement posted on her Instagram, Nayanthara alleged that Dhanush had refused to grant her permission to use visuals and songs from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan, despite multiple requests. She mentioned that the team had to re-edit the documentary to exclude the content from the film due to Dhanush’s refusal[1][2].

Nayanthara accused Dhanush of being motivated by personal grudges and jealousy, stating that his actions were an “all-time low” and reflected poorly on his character. She also criticized Dhanush for objecting to the use of behind-the-scenes visuals that were already available on social media and shot by people’s phones[1][2].

Her husband, director Vignesh Shivan, supported Nayanthara by sharing an old clip of Dhanush’s speech about spreading love and positivity, contrasting it with Dhanush’s current actions. Vignesh’s post urged stars to practice what they preach, especially for the sake of their fans[2].

Nayanthara’s documentary, set to release on Netflix on November 18, provides a glimpse into her personal and professional life, including her journey as an actor and her marriage to Vignesh Shivan. However, due to Dhanush’s objections, the documentary does not include significant content from Naanum Rowdy Dhaan[3].

As of now, Dhanush or his team have not responded to Nayanthara’s accusations or the public backlash[1][2].
